Guthrie & Ghani will open the studio above the shop in Birmingham from 10am-10pm on 12th May for anyone who wants to take part in The Big Sew Off challenge.
You need to book a space in advance in hourly time slots. Places are limited to a max of 8 at a time. You can book as many hours as you would like. Sewing machines and overlockers will be available as well as large shared areas for cutting out. If you wish to bring your own machine, that’s fine but it must have an up-to-date PAT test sticker or be less than a year old.
Places are on a first-come-first-served basis and you can book by emailing us on info@guthrie-ghani.co.ukor calling the shop on 0121 449 8419.
We ask for a suggested donation to Mind for £5 per hour to use the studio. Please make the donation directly to the Big Sew Off JustGiving page. If you want to donate in cash, you can pay the shop on the day and they will make a donation on your behalf.
There will be tea, coffee and home baking available in the studio for those who are joining our Big Sew Off sewathon. Just make a donation to Mind.
Lauren and the Guthrie & Ghani team will also do a rally style team sew for 12 hours making a variety of projects from handbags to cardigans and dresses using fabrics and supplies donated from the Guthrie & Ghani Shop.
Any items you make will be auctioned for Mind.
